The 2013 Pinot Noir Kanzler is soft, delicate and nuanced in the glass, with a much more floral, savory personality than the Sonoma Coast appellation Pinot. Crushed flowers, sweet tobacco, mint, game and dried cherries open up in the glass, but the 2013 remains medium in body and quite delicate. Bright saline notes give the finish its vitality and overall sense of energy.- Antonio Galloni (05/2015)
The last vineyard harvested, the 2013 Pinot Noir Kanzler Vineyard, wasn't brought in until between the 8th and 11th of October. Mostly destemmed and aged 16 months in just under 40% new French oak, it has a cool, fresh, perfumed style to go with lots of rose garden, framboise, black cherry and spice. Lightly textured, elegant and vibrant, it should benefit from a year in bottle and drink well through 2023.-JD
