Margaux, along with Petrus, is unquestionably one of the best two wines produced in the 1980 vintage. This is a wine of uncommon power, concentration, richness, and beauty. It has a ruby color, fine extract, and a surprisingly long, supple palate. This medium bodied and still moderately tannic wine should continue to drink well for at least a decade. Last tasted, 1/91.
