A fully mature and seriously pretty nose of spice, earth, underbrush and an interesting hint of the sauvage combines with delicious, round and rich flavors that offer excellent depth and almost none of characteristic acidity that punctuates the finish on many '69s today plus, here there is vibrancy and punch rather than fatigue. This is a lovely wine that is arguably holding up better than its Musigny counterpart these days, especially over the last 5 years or so. In short, great stuff and while there is no reason to wait, neither is there any reason to hurry to drink up. BH
