Condition: From a parcel located below the Combe aux Moines, the 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin En Velle sports a magnificent nose of red cherries, raspberries, and spices. This silky-textured wine explodes on the palate with layers of toasted oak-tinged sweet cherries. Its tannin is present, providing structure, yet it is ripe and suave. Anticipated maturity: now-2011.
