Possibly the finest wine ever made by this southern Medoc estate owned by the Dourthe firm, the dense ruby/purple-tinged 2005 Belgrave offers sweet black cherry and cassis fruit, floral, and toasty oak characteristics as well as supple tannins. This sleeper of the vintage should drink well young (by the standards of 2005). Anticipated maturity: 2010-2023+. RP
