2004 Le Tertre Roteboeuf St Emilion Red Blend Condition: Good bright ruby-red. Complex aromas of black raspberry, tobacco, espresso and fruity tropical chocolate. Supple, silky and very fresh, with lovely life in the mouth. Mitjavile has always described this vintage as having ""northern fruit character,"" and yet the pH in 2005 is lower than this one (3.7, vs. 3.8), a testament to the new vintage's remarkable retention of freshness. Finishes with slightly rustic, chewy tannins and strong chocolate and licorice notes. ST ST91.89 |
