Company Research...A Tough Job, But Someone Has to Do It

What other job in the world encourages drinking wine as part of the job description? Only the wine industry! We knew that purchasing a wine business would entail research, but this is truly the best kind of studying we have ever done.

We often spend our weekdays and weekends tasting new wines, either via a distributor visit, a formal trade tasting event, or a winery visit.

Here is a shot of us at harvest time in Napa. Chateau Montelena kindly allowed us to observe a crush and get some insights on the process from one of the staff. Visiting Napa wineries at harvest time is truly special. The smells, the activity and excitement, the yellowing of the grape leaves - it's all wonderful.
